We take our older players on a very advanced showcase schedule to provide them with every possible opportunity to demonstrate their respective talents to both college coaches and professional scouts.  This past summer our 16U and 18U showcase teams participated in several of the top tournaments/showcases in the Southeastern United States.  Our teams had the privilege of participating in the United States Championships in Jupiter, Fl., the prestigious Perfect Game National Championships in Marietta, Ga., and the CABA World Series in Charleston, SC.  The boys’ summer was highlighted with a 5-1 record and a 10th place finish in the P.G. National Championships out of 142 teams.

Our 18’s had a very demanding showcase schedule this past summer and had opportunities to compete against national powers East Cobb Braves, SC Diamond Devils, Florida Bombers, Richmond Braves, and the South Charlotte Panthers.  They opened up the summer schedule in Nashville, Tennessee to participate in a college showcase against many of the top travel ball organizations in the Southeast.  In a three week span, our boys played in the National Game Ready tournament in Port St. Lucie, before traveling to the University of South Carolina, Clemson University and Furman University to showcase their talents in front of those respective universities’ coaching staffs.  The team then departed Greenville, SC for Atlanta to compete in the Perfect Game 18U National Championships.
In less than 2 years time, our organization has won 4 Perfect Game Pool Championships in our first 5 attempts  while earning a 9th place finish in the P.G. World Championships in front of 400 scouts along with a 10th place in the P.G. National Championships.  In addition, our 18’s were in the championship game of the National Game Ready tournament in Port St. Lucie.  The game was not played due to inclement weather.
At the moment, we are preparing for our second fall showcase season.  We are extremely excited about the schedule that is in place and we are confident that our players will do exceptionally well in front of numerous professional scouts and college recruiters.
Besides having both a 16U and 18U team representing the World of Baseball, we also had a competitive 12U team that played a fall and spring schedule.  Our boys participated in the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach on two occasions along with all the Triple Crown and USSSA events.
We invite you all to become a part of our family.  Please email or call us if you have questions about our organization.
Please visit our Wall of Fame section to see our growing list of student-athletes earning the opportunity to play baseball at the collegiate and professional level.

Yours in Baseball,

The World of Baseball is owned and operated by long-time Major League Baseball professional and Jacksonville native Clay Daniel. Daniel is currently director of international scouting for the Los Angeles Angels at Anaheim and previously served in the same capacity for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Daniel played college baseball at Gulf Coast Community College, where he broke Hall of Famer Don Sutton’s all-time strikeout record, and at the University of Florida, where he was named to the 1984 All-Southeast Conference Team as a senior. He was a 20th-round draft pick of the Cincinnati Reds in 1984 and pitched in the minor league systems of the Reds, Pittsburgh Pirates and Texas Rangers until 1990.

"We were fortunate enough to meet Clay Daniel in 1997. Clay started working with Matt when he was 13. He continued to work with Matt throughout high school and developed Matt's game, covering all of the fundamental aspects of baseball. After graduation, Clay set up some tryouts for Matt to attend. His first tryout was at Chipola Junior College where Matt was offered a scholarship on the spot. That year Matt was the Panhandle Conference Player of the Year, Junior College Player of the Year for the state of Florida and named First Team All-American. Also Matt was the fourth round draft pick and signed with the Milwaukee Brewers. Matt has just completed his first full season in Single "A" Ball. He was named to the All-Star roster and was named MVP of the All-Star game. We are so grateful for everything Clay and The World of Baseball has done for Matt. We would recommend The World of Baseball academy to anyone who wants their children to learn to play baseball the right way." – Sincerely, Frank & Ceri Gamel, parents of Matt Gamel
